LPD Partners with OPPY to Empower Seniors with AI Literacy and Digital Scam Awareness
LOXLEY Property Development Co., Ltd. (LPD) recently organized a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative titled "AI Awareness for Seniors: Stay Informed, Stay Safe," implemented by OPPY Co., Ltd., a social enterprise, at Hong Hemmarat Elderly School on 8 July 2026. The program was designed to equip older adults with a better understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) while helping them recognize and protect themselves against scams that exploit AI technologies.
The initiative was developed in response to AI's growing role in everyday life and the increasing use of AI by fraudsters to impersonate individuals and carry out increasingly sophisticated scams. As older adults are among the groups most vulnerable to online fraud, the program aimed to strengthen their digital literacy and build confidence in using AI safely and responsibly.
The program comprised two main sessions. The first, "Understanding AI and Recognizing Online Scams," introduced participants to the fundamentals of AI and provided practical guidance on identifying common online scams and protecting themselves from digital threats. The second session, "Hands-on ChatGPT Workshop," gave participants the opportunity to experience AI firsthand by learning how to ask effective questions, search for information, and generate and organize content using ChatGPT.
The workshop was led by Khru Jeab (Ms. Suteera Chamlongsuphalak), Director of OPPY, with support from volunteer employees of LPD, who provided personalized guidance throughout the activities.
The workshop created an engaging and interactive learning environment, with participants enthusiastically exploring AI tools, sharing personal experiences of online scams, and exchanging ideas with one another. By the end of the program, participants had gained a stronger understanding of AI, heightened awareness of online fraud risks, and greater confidence in using digital technologies for learning, communication, and everyday life.
